Most of us in the beginning of a new year feel as if we have to turn over a new leaf.
To reinvent ourselves.
To drop old destructive habits and adopt new constructive ones.
Research has it that only 20% of the people who set some goals in the beginning of a year actually achieve those goals.
Below are 5 ways in which you should set your new year’s goals and see them through.
1.HAVE A SET DATE
You can’t start on with maybe working out on the first day of January.
That is what is called family time.
Wait until your mind and body are relaxed and ready to take on the challenge.
Don’t be funny.
2.SET REALISTIC GOALS
If your goal is to lose weight and you are the size of BIG SHOW, there’s no way that you’ll be the size of Wiz khalifa by the end of the year.
Like me, my sole goal this year is to be richer.
How can I set a goal of earning a million$ by December from my restaurant and clothing company?
I need to be more realistic and plan for maybe 400,000$.
3.Focus on achieving a single goal.
Many goals suck you dry. Leaving you with no energy and no goals accomplished.
It’s like dating many women.
You’ll satisfy none, and much worse you’ll get busted.
4.Write your goals down on a piece of paper
They found out that 84% of them set no goals at all, 13% of them set goals but weren’t written down on paper and 3% who set goals written down on paper.
In 1989 the interviewers found out that the 13% who set goals not written down on paper were making twice as much as the 84% who set no goals at all.
Surprisingly, the 3% who set goals and goals which were written down on paper made twice as much as the 97% combined.
Writing goals down is the magic that turns dreams into plans and plans into reality.
In my case for example.
I do not expect the 400k to be handed to me on a silver platter.
I’ll have to deal with stupid workers who want to steal from me and unscrupulous officers who are just there looking out for their own stomachs.
I’ll also have to reduce sleeping hours to three hours.
Prepare a list of the challenges that you expect to face and know how to deal with them when the time comes.
